A precautionary boil water notice has been issued after a sinkhole on the University of South Florida Tampa campus impacted water clarity on Friday morning.

Officials are monitoring the sinkhole and are advising that all water used for drinking or cooking be boiled.

A rolling boil of one minute is sufficient, officials said.

The notice should remain in effect until tests confirm the water is safe to drink, which might take up to 48 hours.

A notice will be posted once test results are in.

As information becomes available, University of South Florida will update the notices.
