There are some encouraging numbers concerning animals in Hillsborough County.
Hillsborough County Animal Services adopted out a record 772 pets in December. That's the most for any one month in the county.
Animal Services attributes its success to longer adoption hours, rescue groups the Humane Society of Tampa Bay and special adoption promotions.
