Quite a change of pace for Pinellas neighbors and deputies and Florida Fish and Wildlife officers Friday.

They played tug-of-war with an 8-foot alligator stuck in a roadway storm drain in Seminole.

Deputies received word of the stuck animal near the intersection of 94th Ave. and 117th Street N. around 1:30 p.m.

When they arrived at the drain, the alligator was stuck head first in the opening.

Trappers, deputies and citizens pulled the reptile by its tail and body from the drainage opening.

FWC officials checked the alligator for any injuries and then decided to transport it to an alligator farm near Dover.
