A frost advisory will be in effect starting tonight for Citrus and Hernando counties.

According to Bay News 9 Chief Meteorologist Mike Clay, lows in those counties are forecast to be in the mid to upper 30s, which is cold enough for patchy frost to form.

The advisory will be in place starting late Wednesday night and into the early-morning hours of Thursday.

"Lows will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s for the Tampa Bay area but it will be in the mid to upper 30s for Citrus and Hernando counties," Clay said.

Highs will be in the mid 60s Thursday before a gradual warm up, with high temperatures hitting the mid 70s during the weekend.
