The Manatee County Supervisor of Elections is looking to add additional locations for early voting.

During his campaign for the position, Mike Bennett said that he wanted to decrease voting lines. Last year, there was only one place residents could vote early, which created some long lines.

In the upcoming special election on June 18, there will be three locations for early voting: Braden River, Rocky Bluff and South Manatee Branch libraries.

Bennett said he would also like laws changed that only allow early voting in government buildings.  Right now the law only allows early voting in buildings such as city halls or public libraries.  Public schools and churches do not qualify as early voting locations.
