The city of Tampa has reimbursed St. Petersburg for the expenses connected to last year's Republican National Convention.

According to Bay News 9's partner paper, the Tampa Bay Times, St. Petersburg received more than $1.2 million for security and other expenses for hosting the welcome party at Tropicana Field.

Another $40,000 that was designated for "officer training" is still under review, but St. Petersburg Mayor Bill Foster said he expects that will be paid later.

If that happens, St. Petersburg's final tab could be less than $6,000.
