Deputies are on the scene of what they say appears to be a sinkhole on U.S. 19 in Homosassa.
The depression is about 18 feet by 12 feet and is located in the 7900 block of the highway, authorities said.
Florida Department of Transportation officials, as well as Florida High Patrol troopers, responded to the scene. They said the county will be handling the repair of the road.
