A 2-month-old girl injured in a Winter Haven crash last week has died.

Imani Brown was pronounced dead Sunday at 2:30 p.m. She had been receiving treatment at Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children since the crash, which happened April 23.

The little girl had sustained severe brain trauma in the crash, and she never recovered, police said.

Police said the crash happened when Imani's mother, Keri Radnor, 27, tried to make a left turn from Boys Club Road onto Havendale Boulevard when she drove into the path of an eastbound Ford Expedition.

The force of the impact ejected 3-year-old Mekhi Brown from the car. He was still strapped in his car seat at the time.

Imani was thrown around the inside the vehicle while strapped in a child carrier. Police said neither child was properly buckled into the vehicle.

Mekhi Brown was released from the hospital the day after the crash. Radnor was released from Lakeland Regional Medical Center on Sunday.

The crash remains under investigation.
