A New Port Richey man is accused of beating his dog to death and trying to hide its body.
Investigators say 47-year-old Brian Perry was seen beating his German Rottweiler named Gipper with his fists in his neighbor's yard Monday on Manatee Pointe Drive.
Deputies say Perry then called some friends to dispose of the dog's body. Deputies haven't found the dog.
Perry is charged with animal cruelty and obstructing an officer without violence.
Gipper was a rescue dog.
