A Bradenton Police Department K-9 named Blitz has a new protective ballistic vest.
The fitted vest was presented to Police Chief Michael Radzilowski Tuesday by Ray Hubbert of the Retired Law Enforcement Association of Southwest Florida.
The association raises funds for the bullet- and stab-resistant vests and has already presented about 26 of them to more than 10 law enforcement agencies.
Donations from Tom Bunyon and his wife paid for Blitz's vest. Master Patrol Officer Jeanine Pease is the handler for Blitz.
