Police have identified a 2-year-old girl who slipped through a pet access door and fell in a backyard pool Friday has died.
Officers say Elienna Depasquale died Sunday morning. The drowning occurred on the 6400 block of 69th Avenue North in Pinellas Park.
Officers say the girl was submerged in water for several minutes before a family member discovered her.
Emergency crews took the child to St. Petersburg General Hospital where she began breathing. She later went to to All Children’s Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Officers say no charges are expected.
