Construction of the $14.5 million Polk State College Clear Springs Advanced Technology Center is on schedule and should be completed by early next year.

The center will serve as the new base of the Corporate College and several high-tech degree programs. It was made possible by a $12 million, 20-acre gift from Clear Springs Inc., a $2.5 million donation involving site infrastructure from the Polk County Commission and about $185,000 for operating costs approved by the Legislature.

College President Eileen Holden told The Ledger of Lakeland the center will pull together many aspects of the school's integration with the community.
