Three toddlers were found wandering near Shady Hills Road in Shady Hills around 2:30 p.m., officials said.

Deputies said a good Samaritan spotted them just in time, pulled over and helped them to safety.

Deputies were then able to locate the children's mother.

Officials said she let them out to play in the back yard, not realizing some of the fence surrounding the home had been removed.

The sheriff's office said thank you to the quick thinking passer-by, a horrible accident was avoided.

"Had it been dark or the driver wasn't able to see what was going on or was not paying attention, it could've potentially been a deadly situation,” said Doug Tobin, Pasco County Sheriff's Office.

At this time, the sheriff's office says the incident appears to be an accident and the mother will not  face charges.
