After four days in a row of severe thunderstorms which have left flooding and damage in their wake, already soaked parts of the Bay area are getting drenched again.

Heavy thunderstorms are moving through parts of Hillsborough and Polk counties. Viewers in Lakeland reported dime-sized hail.

Flood advisories are posted for Hillsborough and Polk counties until 7:45 p.m.

A flood watch remains in effect for Hernando and Pasco counties until 9 p.m.

"Yesterday, 3 to 4 inches of rain fell in many locations across those counties. Any additional rainfall could cause flooding over the saturated ground," said Bay News 9 Meteorologist Diane Kacmarik.

Bay area residents may see more rain and thunderstorms this evening.

"Any storm that moves slowly can produce high rainfall totals," Kacmarik said.

River flood warnings have been issued for the Little Manatee River at Wimauma in Hillsborough County from Saturday afternoon until Monday evening and Cypress Creek at Worthington Gardens in Pasco County from Sunday afternoon until further notice.

Doris Harris is just one of many who got flooded out in this week's heavy rains.

Rising water bent a fence behind Harris’s Brooksville home soaking all of her furniture and new floors. It's a double hit to Harris who was still renovating from damage after Tropical Storm Debbie.

"Pardon my cry, pardon my tears, this is just too devastating on me this just devastating," said Harris.

Harris isn't the only one dealing with devastation.

Businesses are just as water logged.

"I have to stay in my 27 plus years of being here, I have never seen rain that hard, that can quickly accumulate at such a short period of time and affect so many people," said Tim Massgrove, Brooksville Fire Chief.

The fire chief had crews out assessing the damage today and is already worried about what the weekend holds.

"That's another serious concern that we have because of the ground being saturated there is basically nowhere for the water to go," said chief Massgrove.

Minor flooding is forecast.

"Showers and storms will wane as the evening goes on. Overnight skies will be partly cloudy with some fog forming before daybreak," Kacmarik said.
