An Eagle Lake man died last week from injuries he sustained in an August 29 traffic crash in Polk County.
Gregory P. Drummond, 66, died on Sept. 20 at Lakeland Regional Medical Center. Investigators said he was critically injured when he was involved in a crash while riding his motorcycle on State Road 60.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Drummond was heading eastbound on State Road 60 in the outside lane when he was hit by a 2010 Dodge Challenger.
Investigators said the driver of the Challenger didn't see Drummond when she tried to cross the eastbound lanes, and she ended up driving into the path of his motorcycle.
Drummond, who was wearing a helmet, was thrown from his motorcycle and landed on the road.
The other driver was cited for violation of a stop sign.
The investigation continues.
