Some Bay area residents will have to keep their umbrellas handy Tuesday.

Early-morning showers swept through parts of the Bay area, bringing about a half-inch worth of rain to parts of Pinellas County. According to Bay News 9 Meteorologist Juli Marquez, rain likely will continue through the day.

"Look for a few more scattered showers and thunderstorms to develop this morning,"  Marquez said. "Once the seabreeze develops by this afternoon, we will have additional showers and storms. Those will move inland during the afternoon. It will be partly sunny Tuesday with high temperatures around 90 degrees."

Rain chances are 40 percent Tuesday and will increase slightly by the end of the week.
