People who worked with Chad Oulson at Sky Power Sports in Port Richey are organizing several fundraisers to help his family.

According to deputies, retired Tampa police officer Curtis Reeves shot Chad Oulson at the Cobb Grove 16 theater on Monday after an argument over texting before a movie started.

His wife, Nicole, was also injured after deputies said she put her hand in front of her husband's chest in an attempt to protect him.

They have set up a Facebook page for donations and to get the word out about a Memorial Ride that is being planned for February 9.

Friends said Oulson loved motorcycles and motor sports so they feel like a Memorial Ride is a fitting tribute.

They said they want to do anything they can to help his widow, Nicole, and their young daughter who is about to turn 2 years old.

Friends said everybody who knew Oulson is having a hard time making sense of what happened.

"Chad just touched your life. He made you feel like you were wanted," said Joe Dereapani. "Friends said several other motorcycle dealerships have already said they want to participate in the Memorial Ride."

"He was a great guy and made you smile and would just do anything for you. He would do anything for his little girl and for him to not be here for that is just killing everybody."

Westshore Pizza held a fundraiser on Wednesday night. After 5:00 p.m., they donated $1 for every pizza sold to Nicole and her daughter.

The chain is also collecting funds to help Nicole. Checks can be made payable to Nicole Oulson and mailed or dropped by to:

Nicole Oulson
c/o Westshore Pizza Franchising
401 N Howard Avenue
Tampa FL 33606

According to Westshore Pizza, 100 percent of the money collected will be donated to Nicole. A mail slot is available for after-hours drop offs.

Villano's Pizza in Hudson is also pledging to help out. The pizzeria will donate $1 for every pizza sold through Sunday.

Checks can also be made out to Nicole Oulson and mailed or dropped off at:

Friends said they don't have a specific goal amount in mind. They said they just want to raise as much money as they can for Oulson's family.
