Quick...what's the fastest mode of transportation for a speedy getaway after stealing a television?
Most robbery suspects may opt for a car. Maybe a bicycle, or even just running away.
But according to the Clearwater Police Department, a suspect made unique use of a skateboard Wednesday, tearing off from the Gulf-to-Bay Blvd Super Target on his board while carrying a 32-inch TV.
Clearwater Police detectives are releasing video surveillance images of the suspect's unusual heist in the hope of getting clues from the public.
Officials said the brazen thief made his way in, and quickly out, of the store just before closing at 11 p.m.
Detectives said the man is seen in surveillance video first looking at cell phone cases. Then he made his way to the televisions. When he found one he liked - a 32-inch Element LCD - he grabbed it and made his way to the exit.
Authorities said the suspect even skated through parts of the store with the TV before running for the door with security guards scurrying after him.
Officials said when store personnel confronted him near the store's exit, he brandished a utility knife and then ran out the door, TV and skateboard in his hand.
Once outside, he jumped on the skateboard and headed toward Gulf-to-Bay Boulevard. He last was seen zipping eastbound on the major thoroughfare.
He was in the store for only about three minutes.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 20s with a thin build. He is about 5 feet 11 inches tall and weighs 150. He was wearing a black hoodie, dark jeans, green Nike shoes and had a black backpack.
"I've never seen anything like it," said John Brown, the robbery detective investigating the case. "He gets an A for creativity. But he committed a serious crime and we need to find him."
