A pair of Hillsborough County boys are fighting for a cure. Bryson Poole and his younger brother Blake are raising awareness for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ALS.

The neurological disorder is often called Lou Gehrig's disease. The brothers mom, Belinda, suffers from the disease. It's what led them to start "Kids Quest" to raise awareness and collect donations to help researchers find a cure.

“We want to find a cure for her," Bryson said.

Belinda lost her speech because of the disease, but the trio still manage to communicate well. Before the disease took her speech, Belinda auditioned for a production of Phantom of the Opera.

She showed us a collection of trinkets from the show and told us, she misses singing. Maggie Nolan from the Florida Chapter of the ALS Association was there the day we visited and she spoke about the family.

“It’s an absolute inspiration for everyone that meets them,” Nolan said.

The next big fundraiser is an ALS walk in March and the boys are busy getting the word out.
