Nearly 50 flights were canceled at Tampa International Airport on Monday and 155 flights were delayed due to the frigid weather hitting the Northeast, according to airport officials.

"It'll probably get worse before it gets better," said TIA spokesperson Emily Nipps.

A majority of the canceled flights were to airports in Chicago, New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, Indianapolis and Boston.

A long line formed outside the JetBlue ticket counter after the airline grounded flights for Boston's Logan and three major New York City area airports for 17 hours. JetBlue said the shutdown would help operations recover as efficiently as possible and flights will resume again at 10 a.m. on Tuesday.

Traveler Victor Caminero said he has been stuck in the Bay area since last Thursday when his flight to La Guardia was canceled.

Caminero said his flight was re-scheduled for Tuesday but he's worried that it's also going to be canceled. Caminero said he tried calling the airlines 1-800 number but couldn't get through. So, he decided to drive from Land O' Lakes to TIA to speak with an agent.

"I came personally today... to make sure that I get a flight tomorrow," Caminero said.
