Amy Gazaway's water bill has gone up, then down, then up again in the last few months.

“This is the water bill showing the past couple of months and the inconsistencies,” said Amy Gazaway.

Gazaway said the bill shows she was using 16,000 gallons of water one month and 40,000 gallons another month.

“Consistently for us it has been around $125, so when I got a bill for almost $270 back at the beginning of June, that’s when my jaw dropped,” she said.

But then there was a month the bill went down. Gazaway’s neighbors showed her similar problems with their bills.

“This one was the most enlighten one I have received. This one went from 5,000 gallons to 14. Almost tripled,” said Gazaway.

Right now, no one seems to know what's happening with the billing issues.

Robert Sigmond with Pasco County utilities acknowledges complaints have gone up.

“There have been with any new implementation, there is been an increase in complaints,” said Pasco County Utilities official, Robert Sigmond.

Pasco County utilities officials have placed new meters put in last year, which could be what's causing the problem. The county's now sending out an investigator to check it out.

“We are deploying the inspector general to look into the situation to review what’s going with these meters,” said Pasco County Clerk and Comptroller, Paula S. O’Neil.

There's also new billing software that was installed in June which will that too will be checked.
