Winter Haven city commissioners voted Monday to put money toward various city projects.

According to our partners at the Ledger, commissioners approved a plan to spend more than $1 million on seven projects around town.

The big ticket items are improvements at the airport, including an access road to the airport terminal, and parking and drainage improvements at Sertoma Park.

Other projects include roof repairs and replacements at the Chain of Lakes Complex, fending at Oaklawn Cemetery, resurfacing the city's 11 tennis courts and design work at the city's skate park.

Those projects comprise a small part of the city's list of long-term goals. The city has more than $20 million in projects that commissioners would like to see completed.
