More than a hundred registered nurses took their call for better training and more safety equipment to the streets in Ybor City.

It comes in the wake of a second nurse in Texas contracting the Ebola virus.

"We know 83 percent of nurses surveyed have said their hospitals have not prepared them if they should get an Ebola patient," said Malinda Markowitz, Vice President of National Nurses United.

Some protesters made a stark demonstration by laying on red sheets on the sidewalk, dramatizing the nurses who could die from exposure to Ebola while treating infected patients.

The group is calling on President Obama to issue an executive order requiring hospitals to upgrade their training.

National Nurses United represents 185,000 RNs across the country.
