Tupperware may seem like a blast from the past, but it's still going strong!

Dixie Longate is one of Tupperware’s top sellers and she’s been taking her parties out of the living room and onto the stage right here in Tampa.

Dixie Longate is a fast talking, Tupperware selling, real country diva. She’s taking Tupperware parties out of the living room and onto the big stage for Dixie’s Tupperware Party at the Straz Center.

“Tupperware is 65 years old so people associate it with an old lady thing,” said Dixie Longate. “I’m not an old lady, we’re all people of the day and I want y’all to come and have a good time.”

It’s a good time that includes some raunchy jokes and the chance for the audience to become a part of the show.

“If it’s a party and you’re just sitting there on your hands you’re going to be bored and start doing other things like playing on your phone,” said Longate. “I’m like ‘no, eyes up here’ so I get people up to get them in the demonstrations with games, prizes and all kinds of interactions.’”

Dixie’s non-traditional sales pitch has been a boost for the classic plastic and for the old and new fans looking for a good laugh.

“I’m just happy to be back here at the Straz (snorts),” said Dixie.

You can visit Dixie’s Tupperware Party at the Straz Center through Sunday, October 19th.
