A local arena football player is holding a walk in Lakeland to raise awareness about gun violence.
According to our partners at the Ledger, Reggie Ellis, a wide receiver for the Florida Marine Raiders, will hold the third annual Stop the Violence Rally Walk this Saturday.
Ellis organized the walk in honor of his sister, Jynasis Ellis, who was shot and killed in Tampa in 2012.
The walk will begin at 9 a.m. at the John L. Sanders Boys and Girls Club, which is located at 1525 Martin Luther King Ave. in Lakeland.
