A legendary high school football coach in the Bay Area is being memorialized in a special home near Tampa General Hospital.

Coach Bill "Wild Bill" Minahan died last December after surviving nearly 30 years thanks to a kidney donor.

He was a celebrated football coach at Jesuit High School.

Thursday night, his wife Martha helped dedicate a home that families of organ donor recipients can use while their loved one is recovering.

"I want people to realize, to gather courage, to gather peace, to gather joy, to gather all those things when they're in that room," Martha said. "And then walk out and face the difficulties head on -- knowing what they have to do having the courage to do it."

The home is located on Davis Island next to Tampa General Hospital. It will officially open later this month.
