Authorities say alcohol may be a factor in the death of an Ohio man who fell while trying to climb to the roof of a beach front condominium.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says Cody Conley, 23, of Centerville, Ohio died early Saturday after trying to climb from the sixth floor landing of the Sand Seair Condominiums, 3805 Gulf Boulevard, to the roof.

Deputies say Conley had stripped down to his boxer shorts before attempting the climb just before 2 a.m.

Conley's 17-year-old brother also climbed over the landing's railing to try to stop his brother from falling. Deputies say Cody Conley fell to the pavement below and died at Palms of Pasadena Hospital.

The sheriff's office says Conley's death appears to be accidental. An autopsy is pending.

Conley and his family were visiting Florida for a family wedding.
