An area of low pressure in Mexico's Bay of Campeche is being watched for possible development.

Moisture from Tropical Storm Trudy moved across southwest Mexico during the weekend. The area of weather is expected to be in the Bay of Campeche early this week.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, may impact south Florida's weather later this week.

The low, officially Tropical Wave Invest 93-L, has a medium chance for tropical development in the next five days.

"It has a chance of tropical development this week as it moves east toward the Yucatan Peninsula and Florida Straits," Marquez said. "Right now, the deepest moisture looks to stay in South Florida but we will watch it closely this week to see what impact it could have on our rain chances later this week."
