An overnight fight in a St. Petersburg McDonald's parking lot led to a smashed car and gunshots, but no serious injuries, according to police.

Pinellas County sheriff's deputies responded to the incident, which happened in the parking lot of the McDonald's at 66th Street and 54th Avenue N.

Authorities said it appears a fight may have started somewhere else, but three carloads of people pulled into the eatery parking lot and spilled out of their vehicles. A fistfight broke out among the carloads of people, and that was followed by several gunshots, police said.

One man who suffered injuries in the fight got into his car and tried to speed away, crashing into another vehicle as he pulled off. Police said the man, who did not have serious injuries, drove himself to an area hospital.

No one was injured by the gunshots.

Several people were questioned overnight. According to deputies, everyone involved in the incident is claiming to be a victim. Authorities did not say how the fight started or where it began.

No arrests were made and no identities have been released.

An investigation is ongoing.
