Port Manatee is now home to a new, fast freighter service.

According to the Bradenton Herald, World Direct Shipping will start making runs between Port Manatee and Port of Coatzacoalcos in southern Mexico next week.

The container ship Falmouth will will transport fresh fruit and produce, as well as dry goods, and will stop in each port once a week. Each run will take 2 1/2 days, the Herald reported.

According to the Herald, Palmetto-based Feld Entertainment is even interested in shipping monster trucks to shows in Mexico using the service.
