A high school wrestling coach has been arrested for simple battery against two teenagers.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said deputies received an anonymous complaint against Scott Stern, 45, on October 6th.

Numerous web sites list Stern as a wrestling coach at Clearwater Central Catholic High School.

Detectives started investigating and said they were able to locate two victims.

They said the first victim, an 18 year old, was allegedly battered in February, 2014.

Detectives said Stern made the victim take his clothes off then grabbed him by the throat while yelling at him as a form of discipline.

They said the other victim, a 17 year old, was also forced to take his clothes off. They said in this case the victim was battered several times between August 2013 and May 2014. Detectives said he was struck with a ruler.

Bay News 9 made numerous attempts to contact school officials and the Catholic Diocese of St. Petersburg. None of our calls were returned.

However, people with children who go to the school said they were shocked.

"I think it's totally inappropriate. I don't think any coach should ever, ever go to those boundaries involving children," said Lisa Watt.

"It makes my blood boil," said Chris Halliely.

Parents said coaches should be role models who children can look up to and they said in most situations that is the case.

"Everyone that we've met at the school, coaches, teachers, everyone, has been wonderful and it's shocking to me," said Kristin Del Rio.

Stern is out of jail on bond.

Bay News 9 did go to an address listed for him. A man would not answer the door but told us Stern wasn't home and he said he had "No Comment" about the allegations.

The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said due to Stern's coaching and teaching history there may be other victims.

They are asking anyone with information to contact the Crimes Against Children Unit at 727-582-6200.
