Sheriff's deputies say a resident shot and killed an intruder who broke into a Sarasota home.
The shooting occurred before 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Deputies called to the home found the man deceased inside the home, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office.
The sheriff's office hasn't released the names of the intruder or the homeowner.
An investigation continues.
