Two people were arrested Wednesday in Citrus County as part of a multi-state drug bust.

The Citrus County Sheriff's Office assisted federal and state agencies in the bust, which was organized to shut down sales of marijuana and other illegal substances.

Agents say people in California mailed marijuana and other substances all over the country. The recipients then deposited money into different bank accounts.

Deputies served search warrants on several locations and arrested two suspects. Bree Benson was arrested on federal charges, while Justin Gothard was arrested on local charges.

More people were arrested in Fresno and Los Angeles, California.

Officials say more suspects are at large, but they are not being named at this time.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Internal Revenue Service and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement are also involved in the operation.
