Bay area residents will enjoy a sunny and beautiful afternoon Monday as temperatures rise into the mid 80s.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, drier air is in place and will stay in the region for a while.

"Our overnight temperatures were in the 50s and 60s," Marquez said. "But this afternoon will be warmer than Sunday."

There will be even more sunshine this afternoon before the cooler conditions return overnight.

It will be warmer with partly sunny skies during the middle of the week.

"The dry air will stay in place," Marquez said. "We will continue to have nice weather and there won't be a cold front in the area until the end of the workweek."
