Safety Harbor Recreation debuts new mascot 'Fiona Fun'

Safety Harbor Recreation has a new mascot, and she'll make her debut next Monday.

In fact, she's already making an appearance on the city's Facebook page and Twitter feed.

After Safety Harbor’s last Commission election, the Leisure Services department launched a campaign for a mascot. "Fiona Fun" was chosen from among five finalists.

A press release says Fiona is a "playful, fun loving, child-like leader in Safety Harbor’s Community. She is an advocate for good health, active lifestyles, environmental conservation and community.

"She loves nothing more than volunteering to help in community parks or leading REAL Fun games. Fiona’s purpose in life is to spread awareness of REAL Fun ways to be healthy and to be an active role model in the community by giving back."
