The East Lake Fire District will soon accept sign-ups for the community's annual Santa truck visit.

Each year, Santa teams up with firefighters, emergency crews and community volunteers to deliver gifts to boys and girls in the fire district.

Santa rides on the fire department's fully-restored 1961 American LaFrance fire truck and makes personal stops to children's homes.

If you live in the East Lake Fire District and want Santa to visit your home or block party during the holidays, you will need to sign up beforehand.  (Officials say block parties are encouraged so Santa can visit more children.)

Organizers plan Santa visits based on the number of children at the household, so that information should be on hand when registering.

Sign up begins at Station 57 on Friday, Nov. 14 from 8:30-10 a.m. Station 57 is located at 3375 Tarpon Lake Boulevard in Palm Harbor.

Registration by telephone will begin Monday, Nov. 17 through Friday, Nov. 21 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.  Call 727-784-8668, option 1, and ask for Marianne.

Santa Truck guidelines, dates/times of when and where the Santa Truck will be traveling is posted at www.elfr.org.
