A trip to Africa, nearly two years in the making for a group of Inverness women, is now on hold out of fear of catching the Ebola virus.

Mellodie Farfaglia and her friends have been planning and paying for a gorilla excursion to Uganda.

They're scheduled to leave October 19, but now with the Ebola scare they're all having second thoughts.

They all bought insurance for the trip, that's costing them $10,000 each, but now there's a problem.

The travel insurance they purchased from a San Diego company won't cover their cancellation because where they’re going is not one of the countries affected by the Ebola virus.

Officials at AAA suggest that if you plan on booking an international or exotic trip, it's best to buy insurance through a large, local travel organization with a reputation of paying claims.

Right now, the Ebola outbreak is in West Africa, mostly in the countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea. Heath officials in boardering countries are still on guard.
