A 53-year-old Tampa man died Monday night after being struck by a van while pushing a shopping cart across W Hillsborough Avenue in Town 'N Country.
The victim, whose name has not been released, was crossing Hillsborough east of Theresa Road around 10 p.m. and stepped into the path of a westbound Ford E-250, the Florida Highway Patrol said. He was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital, where he later died.
The driver of the van, 25-year-old Brandon Knowles of Palm Harbor, was not injured.
No charges have been filed.
