Two Pasco County siblings are among the 25 finalists competing for a chance to win $15,000 plus another $30,000 for their school cafeteria makeover.
Caitie and Zach Tomasello participated in Ben's Beginners Cooking Competition for families and children sponsored by Uncle Ben's Rice and the Mars Corporation.
They were both selected for their two separate video entries out of 400 entries. Caitie was picked for her Teriyaki Salmon and Rice Foil Packets, while Zach's entry was for Fiesta Rice.
Heather Tomasello says her children have been helping her in the kitchen for years now and despite the competition, cooking together is something that families need to do more of.
“It’s an opportunity to do something hands-on with them and we just have really great conversations," she said. "There is no pressure.”
