A Lakeland animal feed manufacturer has recalled some products after three horses died in South Florida.

According to our partners at the Ledger, Lakeland Animal Nutrition recalled four products on Oct. 22 after three horses died at a South Florida ranch on Oct. 16 to 20.

  • Signature Status Pellet, lot number 14-251 manufactured on Sept. 8;
  • Signature Equilete Pellet, lot number 14-259 manufactured on Sept. 16;
  • Signature Status Pellet, lot number 14-280 manufactured on Oct. 7; and
  • LAN 10 Pellet, lot number 14-281 manufactured on Oct. 8.

The Ledger reports the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services is investigating the horses' deaths and has sent the feed to a laboratory for testing. It expects to have the results of the test by the end of the week.
