A well-known fast food chain is just one of the many businesses that are starting to move to the Port Richey area and according to the city’s manager, it’s a sign the economy is coming back.

The fast food restaurant will be Culvers and will sit on U.S. 19 and Ridge Road. That intersection is the busiest intersection in Port Richey where about 100,000 cars drive by every day.

The brand new development will be the second commercial development in the intersection since WAWA opened roughly two years ago.

The business is expected to bring about 70 jobs.

Port Richey City Manager Tom O'Neill believes this is an indicator of a recovering economy.

“It’s a sign of an economic upturn along the corridor and a renewed interest in a commercial development,” said O’Neill.

The construction is expected to wrap up this upcoming spring in Port Richey.
