Doctors are warning parents to keep their children away from energy drinks.

Researchers found 40 percent of the calls to poison control centers for energy drink exposure involved children under the age of 6.

In a lot of those cases, parents didn't know their children had access to the energy drinks.

Experts say adolescents can experience serious health problems after drinking only 100 milligrams of caffeine, and for younger children, it's even less.

'Hand in Paw' helps sick people through power of pets

Health officials say pets are helpful in healing the body, and an Alabama clinic is head of the game.

The clinic has set up a program called Hand in Paw. Volunteers take their dogs to help adults and children with physical or emotional problems. They interact with professionally-trained animal therapy teams.

The handlers say their job can be pretty emotional, and they love what they are doing.

"Somedays we come in here and we smile and we get to our cars and we cry like babies," Janice Clifford said.

Patients like Andrea Viverios, who has cancer, said the visits from dogs really help lift their spirits.

"You know that it's gonna be okay," Viverios said. "It's like somehow they're telling you, 'It's gonna be okay, don't be sad today,' you know, and they have that look and it just brightens your day."

There are some restrictions for the dogs. They need to be groomed the day before they come. Also, hand sanitizer is used before and after the pets are touched.
