The recent cold spell will come to an end Friday as temperatures begin to rise to more normal levels for this time of year.

According to Bay News 9 meteorologist Juli Marquez, not only will the warming trend begin, but some humidity will move back into the area by the end of the weekend.

"After a cool morning Friday, we will have a warmer afternoon," Marquez said. "Temperatures will rise to the low 70s. As the warmer weather moves back into our area, the humidity will return also, especially for Sunday."

Warmer air will build in over the next couple days with high temperatures in the upper 70s to low 80s this weekend.

Moisture will also start pushing in which will bring some rain chances gradually back in. There is a chance of a few showers this weekend. The best chance for rain will be on Monday (50 percent) and Tuesday (60 percent).

The next cold front looks to come through late Tuesday and early Wednesday.
