Authorities have released more information about a SWAT standoff that left a Bradenton firefighter dead.

Donald Wendt, 50, was shot and killed Sunday night after he came out of his home and pointed a gun at SWAT team members, officials say.

Officials said originally said Wendt had threatened to kill himself and his sister.  However, on Tuesday, officials said a more careful review of police dispatch recordings found that Wendt did threaten to kill himself, but they cannot substantiate allegations that he threatened his sister's life.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement continues to investigate the shooting.
