More than 750,000 LED lights are up at the Florida Botanical Gardens in Largo, which opened its 2014 holiday season today.

"Enjoy this garden because it’s all lit up and it is magical," said Terry Berube, the President of the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation. "Every time you take a corner you see something different."

Berube said the holiday display is the largest fundraiser for the gardens and this year they're asking for double the suggested donation amount.

"We had to go up from a $2 requested donation to $4 for anyone 13 and older," she said. "But when you see what you get for that throughout the year it’s great."

Berube said there's no grinches at the gardens and if someone can't afford the suggested donation they won't be turned away. All the money raised goes towards improving the gardens.

"This past year we’ve put in new walkways that were ADA compliant and we put in a new butterfly garden," Berube said. "And a whole new renovation of the west side gardens.”

The holiday lights display at the Florida Botanical Gardens, located at 12520 Ulmerton Road, opens Nov. 28 and runs through Dec. 31, from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m.
