Students at the University of South Florida's College of Nursing brought some holiday cheer to young patients Monday.

The students brought cuddly teddy bears to sick children at Tampa General Hospital as part of the third annual Bulls Encouraging and Assisting through Research and Scholarship (B.E.A.R.S.) campaign.

Over the next four days, more than 100 students, staff and faculty will deliver the custom gray bears, each dressed in their own 2014 USF Nursing uniforms to sick children at six more hospitals.  Those hospitals are:

  • Sarasota Memorial Hospital - Tuesday, Dec. 2, 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
  • Morton Plant Hospital - Wednesday, Dec. 3, 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Mease Countryside Hospital - Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Florida Hospital Tampa - Thursday, Dec. 4, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
  • St. Joseph's Children's Hospital - Thursday, Dec. 4, 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.
  • All Children's Hospital - Friday, Dec. 5, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The teddy bears were donated by college supporter Christopher J. Davis as part of USF's Unstoppable Campaign.
