A Lakeland man died early Thursday in a crash at a toll plaza on the Polk Parkway.
Joshua D. Serrano, 29, was driving east on Polk Parkway at 3:30 a.m. when troopers said he came up to the toll plaza in the Sunpass/cash lane.
Serrano was behind a tractor trailer that had stopped to pay the toll. However, troopers said Serrano failed to stop and crashed into the rear of the tractor trailer.
Serrano died from his injuries at the scene of the crash.
The driver of the tractor trailer sustained minor injuries in the crash.
