Citrus County is looking for volunteers for its guardian ad litem program.

The volunteers help children who have been removed from their homes due to abuse, abandonment or neglect. They help represent the child in court, and they advise the judge on the best living situation for the child.

If accepted, volunteers spend 10-15 hours a month representing a child.

Volunteers must complete 30 hours of training first. The following dates have been scheduled:

  • January 29-31, 2015 in The Villages
  • February 19-21 in Brooksville
  • Specific dates for the March training in Ocala and the April training in Lecanto will be released soon.

If you are interested, contact Diana Hollwedel at 352-812-6971 or DianaHollwedelGAL@gmail.com to register for the training.
