Downtown St. Petersburg is a growing hot spot and soon there will be another development to add to the list.
It’s only three letters but ONE is going to be big.
"ONE St. Petersburg is one entire city block with residential and retail hotel,” development executive Brian Van Slyke said.
The development will be 41 stories tall, with 253 luxury condos, 174 hotel rooms, shopping and dining.
Soon it will be set up at First Street N and First Avenue N in downtown St. Petersburg.
"St. Petersburg has a tremendous amount to offer,” said Van Slyke.
Van Slyke said it’s clear St. Petersburg is booming. Condos are popping up everywhere. Sundial is nearly in full swing, and his company is trying to capture some of that momentum.
"A lot of people are looking at St. Petersburg as a great place to live as well as a destination for vacationing and weekends,” said Van Slyke.
ONE St. Petersburg will eventually cater to both of those groups.
For now a small office sits on the property, but this week, for the first time, potential residents will be able to sign up for condos.
"We believe the time is right and there’s a lot of pent up demand for this type of project," he said.
Developers expect to break ground in the spring. It should be up and running in the fall of 2018.
