The Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office has released new details in the Lithia crash that killed two people Saturday night.

They say a 2012 Ford Van, driven by 23-year-old Todd Smith, was southbound on Highway 39 just south of Alderman Ford Park Drive.

Deputies say he went into the northbound lanes and hit a 2004 Chevrolet Impala, driven by 44-year-old Lloyd Worth.

Smith and Lloyd both died at the scene.

Lloyd's passenger, Carl Worth, remains in critical condition in Tampa General Hospital.

A third vehicle, a 2011 Honda Civic, was behind the Impala and struck it.

Three people inside the Civic were treated for minor injuries at a Brandon hospital.

Investigators say they suspect alcohol is involved in the crash.

Highway 39 is now open.
